infrarot sauna wiedikon

The Fire & Ice Synergy: Infrared Sauna

To take your recovery to the next level, we strongly recommend that you use your Cold plunge with ours Infrared sauna to combine.

Why this is so effective:
The “contrast therapy” of extreme heat and cold is a powerful reset for your entire organism. While the ice bath reduces inflammation and stimulates your nervous system (including... vagus nerve) wakes you up, the infrared heat penetrates deep into the muscle tissue. This promotes detoxification and relieves tension. Together they create a “vascular pump", which massively boosts your blood circulation. The result is an incomparable feeling of mental clarity and a physical "glow" that you simply have to experience.

Ice bathing: benefits for body and mind

Ice bathing is more than just a trend.
It is a powerful method that has numerous positive effects on physical and mental health.
Here are compelling benefits of ice bathing:

  • Regular ice bathing can promote the production of white blood cells and strengthen the immune system, making the body better equipped to fight disease.
  • Improving blood circulation. The sudden cold stimulus stimulates blood circulation and helps the body transport oxygen more efficiently.
  • Faster regeneration after exercise. Ice baths aid muscle recovery by reducing inflammation and preventing muscle soreness.
  • Mental strength and stress reduction. Immersing yourself in cold water requires mental discipline while encouraging the release of endorphins, which can reduce stress and elevate mood.
  • Promoting a healthy metabolism. The cold activates brown fat tissue, which helps the body burn calories and increase overall metabolic rate.
  • Ice bathing activates your mitochondria and increases their efficiency for more energy and cell health.

Scientific basis of our method:

  • Cold exposure & immune system: Dr. Nikolai Shevchuk et al. examined the effect of cold hydrowater therapy on mental health and beta-endorphins.
  • Brown adipose tissue: Studies by Dr. Susanna Søberg show that regular cold stimuli can increase metabolic activity by activating 'Brown Adipose Tissue' (BAT) (Søberg Principle).
  • Vascular effect: The effectiveness of contrast therapy (alternative warming) on the regeneration of athletes is proven in numerous sports science meta-analyses (e.g. in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research).
  • Vagus nerve stimulation: Cold stimuli to the face and neck area are clinically recognized methods for increasing vagal tone and reducing heart rate variability (HRV).
