Hatha training in 5 weekends

Our 50-hour training course offers a comprehensive introduction to the art of Hatha Yoga. The training takes place over 5 weekends. During this time, participants deepen their knowledge in the following areas:

  • Practice and theory of asanas: Learning the correct alignment and understanding of physical postures.
  • Pranayama: Introduction to various breathing techniques to promote vital energy.
  • Meditation and Kriyas: Techniques for mental clarity and purification of the body.
  • Teaching methodology: Structure of yoga classes, didactics and ethical principles of teaching.
  • Anatomy and physiology: Understanding the body systems and specific yoga anatomy.
  • Yoga philosophy: Insights into the origins of yoga and important scriptures such as the Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita.

The curriculum

Hatha philosophy

The Hatha philosophy in yoga emphasizes the balance of opposites, especially the sun (masculine energy) and the moon (feminine energy), in order to achieve harmony and inner balance. In the course, you will learn how this philosophy influences daily life, the importance of contrasts such as activity and rest and how body, mind and soul are connected. The aim is to develop your own potential and lead a conscious, fulfilled life through balance.

Asanas & Anatomy

You will learn the importance of Asana (postures) and their influence on body and mind. Each posture promotes strength, structure and stability, while at the same time supporting inner balance.

A central component is the anatomy, which provides a deeper understanding of the body's structures. Topics such as muscles, joints, spine and fascia are covered to ensure safe and effective execution of the asanas. The connection between breathing and movement is also addressed.

This knowledge enables a mindful and conscious yoga practice that can be individually adapted to improve physical well-being in the long term.

Meditation & Breath (Pranayama)

meditation and Pranayama (breathing techniques) are essential practices that play a central role in yoga training. Meditation promotes mindfulness, inner peace and mental clarity and helps to calm the mind and expand consciousness.

Pranayama, The conscious control of the breath is a powerful tool for regulating life energy (prana). Through targeted breathing exercises, you learn to reduce stress, improve mental concentration and strengthen physical stamina.

This creates a deeper connection to yourself, which promotes harmony and balance on all levels of your being.

Teach

You will learn how to create a mindful and effective yoga class. You will explore how to structure a class in order to create a flowing and balanced practice. Preparing the space and creating a welcoming atmosphere are also important aspects.

The training also includes giving Adjustments (corrective instructions) to support participants in their practice and avoid injuries. You will be guided to develop your own language in order to give clear and respectful instructions.

A particular focus is on dealing with injuries and necessary adjustments during pregnancy to ensure safe and healthy practice for all

My name is Laura and I am a certified teacher for Hatha Yoga, Katonah® Yoga, Kundalini and children's yoga. I am originally from Austria, but have been living in Switzerland since 2014 and am 36 years old. For me, yoga is more than just a practice - it is a way of life to harmonize body, mind and breath and to feel the connection to your own soul. My yoga classes are about conveying the joy and lightness of movement. It's about being aware of your own body, feeling yourself and simply allowing yourself to be who you are.

I'm really impressed with my experience at Temple Shape so far! I first came across them while exercising in the park, where I noticed a group of people doing a workout together. My curiosity led me to ask what was going on, and that's how I met Dani. She was super kind and quickly shared all the details about Temple Shape.What I discovered was beyond my expectations. They have a great studio in town, but during the summer, they take their workouts outdoors, which has been a great way to mix things up. They also offer sessions at cool spots like the 25th Hotel West, where you can even relax in the Sauna afterward—definitely a nice touch! And their retreats around Europe sound amazing. I'm excited to check those out too.Being new to Zurich, I'm glad to have found a community that's so welcoming and focused on health and wellness. The studio has a great vibe, with a cozy space to hang out, grab some healthy snacks, and connect with others before and after classes.Thanks to the team at Temple Shape for the warm welcome, looking forward to more great sessions with you all !

After doing lots of Yoga, Pilates and workout classes at Templeshape, I also decided to go for one of their retreats, so I joined the one in Wildhaus. As I actually already expected, it was an amazing experience that I can only recommend! It's an amazing mix of yoga and workouts as well as a few other activities and on top they will spoil you with self cooked treats and meals! As in their studio it was a really welcoming atmosphere! Mira, Dani and Gerrit were amazing hosts and I can't wait to join one of the other retreats too!! A big thank you to all of them for making this experience so unique!
Very nice yoga studio, I attended the HIIT yoga class with Ina using the HalloYoga book and it was amazing. She focuses on individual progress and is super friendly.
