III. Yin Yoga Workshop: Letting go and relaxing

What is Yin Yoga, you ask?

Unlike more dynamic yoga styles like Vinyasa or Hatha, Yin Yoga focuses on holding positions for longer periods of time – usually about 3 to 5 minutes.

This allows the muscles to relax and the connective tissue is specifically addressed, which promotes the flexibility and mobility of the joints.

The main difference between Yin Yoga and other styles of yoga is that it addresses not only the muscles but also the deeper tissues of the body.

This can help Tensions and release tension stored deep in the body, leading to a feeling of lightness and relaxation.

When you practice Yin Yoga, you often find yourself in sitting or lying positions that you have to hold for several minutes at a time.

This may be challenging at first, especially if you are used to faster styles of yoga, but with time and practice you will find yourself going deeper into each pose and experiencing a deep sense of relaxation.

The most common poses in Yin Yoga include child's pose, butterfly pose, dragon pose and sphinx pose.

These poses are designed to gently stretch and target different areas of the body, allowing you to release tension and find a sense of calm in your body and mind.

In addition to the physical benefits of Yin Yoga, there are also mental benefits.

Holding the poses for longer forces you to slow down and be present in the moment.

This can help calm the mind and promote a feeling of relaxation and inner peace.

So if you stress and want to let go of tension and really relax your body and mind, you should try Yin Yoga.

Maybe it's just the practice you've been looking for to relax and find some much-needed peace in your hectic life.

V. Acro Yoga Workshop Zurich: Trust, communication and balance

5.1. Basics of Acro Yoga and safety measures

When you first hear about Acro Yoga, it may sound a bit intimidating.

Images of people floating through the air, twisting and turning with ease may make you think it's only for circus performers or contortionists.

But the truth is that Acro Yoga is for everyone!

At our last workshop in Zurich we focused on the basics of Acro Yoga and the importance of safety measures.

We wanted to make sure everyone felt comfortable and safe trying new poses and movements.

One of the most important things we emphasized was communication between partners.

Trust is the key to Acro Yoga.

That's why it's important that you can talk openly with your partner about what feels good and what doesn't.

We also discussed some important safety precautions to keep in mind when doing Acro Yoga.

Things like proper alignment, using spotters when necessary, and listening to your body were particularly emphasized during the workshop.

We wanted everyone to feel safe while exploring this new practice.

5.2 Partner exercises and flows in Acro Yoga

After getting familiar with the basics and safety measures of Acro Yoga, it was time to do some fun exercises and flows with partners.

This is where the true magic of Acro Yoga comes alive - in the connection between partners as they lift each other up, support each other and find balance together.

We started with some simple partner exercises to get familiar with working together.

Things like hand-to-hand connections, basic lifts and counterweights helped us build trust and communication with our partners.

It was amazing to see how quickly everyone internalized these movements and was able to work together seamlessly.

As the workshop progressed, we moved on to more complex movements and sequences in Acro Yoga.

Now things got really exciting! We played with inversions, transitions between poses and even some flying sequences where everyone felt like they were floating in the air.

At the end of the workshop, everyone was beaming with joy and excitement about what they had achieved together.

The Sense of community and the support you experience when practicing Acro Yoga with others is truly incomparable.

It's amazing what can happen when you trust yourself, your partner and the process.

So if you ever get the chance to try an Acro Yoga workshop, take it!

VI. Breathwork Workshop: The Power of Breathing

Let’s now delve deep into the world of breathwork and explore the incredible power of breathing exercises.

If you have ever taken a yoga class, you already know that breathing plays an important role in the practice.

But did you know that there are certain breathing techniques known as pranayama that can have a profound impact on your physical and mental well-being?

6.1. The importance of breathing exercises in yoga

Breathing is something we do without thinking about it, but when we become conscious of our breath and learn to control it, amazing things can happen.

In yoga and Pilates, breathwork is considered one of the most important aspects of the practice.

Not only does it help calm the mind and relieve stress, but it also energizes the body and improves circulation.

By focusing on our breath during yoga poses, we can increase our lung capacity, improve our posture, and even increase our concentration and focus.

By incorporating certain breathing techniques into our practice, we can develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and mindfulness.

6.2. Instructions on various breathing techniques (Pranayama)

There are many different pranayama techniques you can incorporate into your yoga practice, and each has its own benefits.

One of the most common techniques is Ujjayi breathing, also known as ocean breathing.

To practice Ujjayi breathing, first breathe deeply through your nose.

When you exhale through your nose, slightly contract the back of your throat to create a soft hissing sound.

This controlled breathing technique helps calm the mind and regulate the flow of energy in the body.

Another popular pranayama technique is Nadi Shodhana, alternate nostril breathing.

In this technique, you alternately close one nostril with your thumb and ring finger while breathing in and out through the other nostril.

Nadi Shodhana helps balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain, reduce stress and improve mental clarity.

6.3. Yoga, breathing work and ice baths

Now let’s move on to an exciting new wellness trend: the combination of yoga and breathwork with Ice bathing

Ice baths have been used for centuries to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation and promote circulation.

Combining an ice bath with breathing techniques like Wim Hof breathing or Kundalini breathing can take your practice to a whole new level.

The combination of cold exposure and controlled breathing can help strengthen your immune system, increase your tolerance to discomfort, and improve your mental resilience.

Plus, it's a great way to challenge yourself both physically and mentally.

So the next time you feel stressed or overwhelmed, consider incorporating breathing exercises into your yoga practice or taking a dip in the cold water at a Ice bath in the Templeshape Studio.

You will be surprised how powerful the simple act of breathing can be!

VII. Yoga Workshop Zurich: Vinyasa Flow – Dynamics and Flow

7.1. The philosophy and practice of Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is all about movement and breath.

It is a dynamic and flowing style of yoga that focuses on connecting each movement with the breath to create a seamless and graceful practice.

In our next yoga workshop in Zurich we will delve deep into the philosophy and practice of Vinyasa Flow and explore the principles of this yoga style to apply them to our own practice.

The philosophy behind Vinyasa Flow is based on the idea of moving with intention and goal.

Each movement is connected to the breath, creating a continuous flow that helps calm the mind and focus on the present moment.

By synchronizing our movements with our breath, we can cultivate a sense of mindfulness and awareness that extends beyond the mat into our daily lives.

7.2. Sequences and exercises for a flowing Vinyasa Flow

In our yoga workshop Zurich we will learn different sequences and exercises that will help you develop strength, flexibility and balance while you perform your practice fluently.

From sun salutations to standing poses to inversions, we'll break down each sequence step by step and give you the tools you need to move with ease and grace.

One of the most important components of Vinyasa Flow is the concept of moving meditation.

By focusing on your breath and allowing it to guide you, you can create a sense of flow that feels effortless and almost like a dance.

This meditative quality distinguishes Vinyasa Flow from other yoga styles and makes it a unique and transformative practice for body and mind.

Whether you're new to yoga or want to deepen your practice, our Vinyasa Flow workshop in Zurich will inspire and challenge you - in the best way possible. Come and explore the dynamics and flow of Vinyasa Yoga with us!

VIII. Hatha Yoga Workshop Zurich: Balance of body and mind

Hatha yoga, one of the most popular forms of yoga, focuses on balancing the body and mind through postures (asanas) and breathing exercises.

In our next Hatha Yoga workshop in Zurich, we will delve into the origins and principles of this ancient practice and explore classic asanas and breathing techniques that will help you achieve a sense of balance and harmony in your life.

Hatha yoga is a style of yoga that originated in India thousands of years ago and focuses on physical postures to align and calm the body, as well as breathing techniques to concentrate and calm the mind.

The word Hatha means ha for sun and tha for moon and stands for the balance between opposites such as light and dark, hot and cold, male and female.

By practicing Hatha Yoga, you can work on finding balance within yourself.

Classical asanas are specific postures that serve to stretch and strengthen different parts of the body.

The classic asanas include the downward dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana), the tree pose (Vrksasana), the second warrior (Virabhadrasana II) and the cobra pose (Bhujangasana).

Each posture has its own benefits for the body and mind, such as improving flexibility, building strength, reducing stress or increasing concentration.

Less stress and increased concentration are the reasons why we often hold Hatha workshops in Corporate offer frames.

Employees and employers benefit equally from the offer.

In addition to the classic asanas, Hatha Yoga also includes breathing exercises known as Pranayama. Pranayama helps regulate the breath and calm the mind through various techniques such as deep abdominal breathing,

Alternate nostril breathing or breath retention can help calm the mind. Regular pranayama practice can increase lung capacity, improve oxygen circulation in the body, and reduce stress.

In our Hatha Yoga workshop in Zurich, we guide you through a series of classic asanas and pranayama exercises that will help you find a deeper connection between your body and mind.

Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, this workshop is suitable for all levels.

Join us for a day of self-discovery and relaxation as we explore the balance of body and mind through Hatha Yoga.
