„Who actually owns the sweat on the mat?“ When I walk through our Templeshape studios in my role as Managing Director, I sense that the industry is changing. Every day. And not just in terms of marketing or course formats, but above all in people's hearts and minds. Here are a few (not entirely dry) observations from the engine room of an SME:
1. From the hunt for performance to self-care
The trend of „higher, faster, further“ is increasingly being replaced by „more mindful, more conscious, more sustainable“. Our members - from early bird bankers to after-work yoginis - are no longer just looking for a six-pack, but one thing above all: joie de vivre and genuine balance.
Companies are no longer just booking boot camps for the team, but are specifically asking for mental health programs.
2. Hybrid offerings are here to stay
Online yoga was once an emergency solution, today it is a supplement. Many people do hybrid training: sometimes in the studio, sometimes in the home office living room. This brings flexibility - and challenges studios to deliver quality on all channels.

Now Fitness group lessons book in Wiedikon & at the airport!
3. Experience beats routine
People who work out today want goosebump moments instead of „just“ counting calories. Retreats, Specials, Ice bathing with the community or yoga in the open air - experiences that bring people together and make them forget their everyday lives are in high demand.
Companies in particular are realizing this: Nothing brings teams together better than real shared experiences - away from the flipchart.
4. Customization is king (and queen!)
Whether Private lesson, customized training plan for the company or specific tips for back pain: standard was yesterday.
People expect personal support, genuine interest and a sympathetic ear - regardless of their performance level.
That's what makes our team special and gives me the feeling every day that I can really make a difference.
5. Appreciation and community: the new status symbols
Competing for the "perfect body"?
We are happy to leave that to other studios. What counts for us: Cohesion, mutual motivation and genuine enjoyment of development.
This applies to our individual customers just as much as it does to companies, which today place much greater emphasis on team spirit and sustainable health.

6 Conclusion: What does this mean for SMEs - and for me?
Honestly? The tasks are becoming more varied, the requirements (and sometimes also the wishes) more individual.
But that's exactly what makes our industry so lively! Companies that offer fitness, yoga or Pilates wants a lasting effect for people and teams.
And as Managing Director, I can say that there is hardly anything better than seeing how movement turns into genuine enthusiasm.
