Fitness & Yoga: 5 Trends for More Joy of Life in 2025

„Who actually owns the sweat on the mat?” When I walk through our Templeshape studios in my role as Managing Director, I feel: The industry is changing. Daily. And not just in marketing or course formats, but especially in the minds and hearts of people. Here are a few (not entirely dry) observations from the engine room of an SME:

1. From the pursuit of performance to self-care

The trend of 'higher, faster, further' is increasingly being replaced by 'more mindful, conscious, sustainable'. Our members – from early-bird bankers to after-work yoginis – are no longer just looking for a six-pack, but above all for one thing: joy of life and true balance.

Companies are no longer just booking boot camps for the team, but are specifically asking for offerings for mental health.

2. Hybrid offerings have arrived to stay

Online yoga used to be a makeshift solution, today it is an addition. Many train hybrid: sometimes in the studio, sometimes in the home office living room. This brings flexibility – and challenges studios to deliver quality across all channels.

3. Experience beats routine

Those who train today want goosebump moments instead of just counting calories.Retreats, specials, Ice bathing with the community or yoga in the open air – experiences that connect and let you forget everyday life are in high demand.

Companies are realizing: Nothing brings teams together better than genuine shared experiences – away from the flip chart.

4. Individualization is king (and queen!)

Whether private lesson, customized training plan for companies, or targeted tips for back pain: standard is yesterday.

People expect personal guidance, genuine interest, and an open ear – regardless of performance level.

This is what makes our team and gives me the feeling every day that I can truly make a difference.

5. Appreciation and community: The new status symbols

Competition for the "perfect body"?

Let's leave that to other studios. What matters to us: solidarity, mutual motivation, and real joy in development.

This applies to our individual customers just as much as to companies that today place a much stronger emphasis on team spirit and sustainable health.

6. Conclusion: What does this mean for SMEs – and for me?

To be honest? The tasks are becoming more diverse, the requirements (and sometimes wishes) ever more individualized.

But that is exactly what makes our industry so vibrant! Who books fitness, yoga, or Pilates today wants sustainable impact for people & team.

And as managing director, I can say: There’s hardly anything more beautiful than seeing genuine enthusiasm grow from movement.
