"Who actually owns the sweat on the mat?" When I walk through our Templeshape studios in my role as managing director, I feel: The industry is changing. Daily. And not just in marketing or class formats, but especially in the minds and hearts of people. Here are a few (not entirely dry) observations from the engine room of an SME:
1. From the pursuit of performance to self-care
The trend "higher, faster, farther" is increasingly being replaced by "more mindful, more conscious, more sustainable." Our members – from the early-bird banker to the after-work yogi – are no longer just looking for six-pack abs, but above all for one thing: joy in life and true balance.
Companies no longer just book boot camps for the team, but specifically ask for offerings for mental health.
2. Hybrid offerings have arrived to stay
Online yogawas once a stopgap solution; today it is a supplement. Many train hybrid: sometimes in the studio, sometimes in the home office living room. This brings flexibility – and challenges studios to deliver quality on all channels.

Now Fitness group classes book in Wiedikon & at the Airport!
3. Experience beats routine
Those who train today want goosebumps moments instead of just counting calories.Retreats, specials, ice bathingwith the community or yoga in the open air – experiences that connect and make you forget everyday life are in high demand.
Companies are realizing: Nothing brings teams together better than genuine shared experiences – away from the flip chart.
4. Personalization is king (and queen!)
Whether private lesson, custom training plan for the company, or targeted tips for back pain: standard was yesterday.
People expect personal guidance, genuine interest, and an open ear – regardless of performance level.
That's what our team is all about and gives me the feeling every day that I can really make a difference.
5. Appreciation and community: The new status symbols
Competition for the "perfect body"?
We gladly leave that to other studios. With us, what matters is: solidarity, mutual motivation, and genuine joy in development.
This applies to our individual clients as well as to companies, which today place much more emphasis on team spirit and sustainable health.

6. Conclusion: What does this mean for SMEs – and for me?
To be honest? The tasks are becoming more diverse, the demands (and sometimes the wishes) are becoming increasingly individual.
But that’s exactly what makes our industry so vibrant! Those who book fitness, yoga, or Pilatesas a company today want sustainable impact for people & teams.
And as a managing director, I can say: There is hardly anything more beautiful than seeing how movement turns into genuine enthusiasm.
